Hello Final 7!!!
Welcome to Berlin again!!! This week you need to submit a photo to be used for Celebrity Perfumes.
Let's see you own version of celebrity perfume advertisements
Ashley (NY Chick by Ashley Olsen)
Gwen: I like this shot. It's very commercial and very well done. I could easily see this being a part of a campaign right now. You definitely have the theme nailed and you look good doing it.
Lee: Other than looking a bit clueless in the photo, I like the direction you went. Obviously you had a theme in mind and I actually think you did a good job of portraying it.
Amanda: I love this. The taxicab fits a big city like New York perfectly, and you just seem to embody that "city girl" vibe. The misty effect caused by the rain and your purse make this PERFECT for perfume, and I really don't see anything I can complain about. Welcome back to full strength, Ash!
Adele: Great job, Very chic, I think you nailed your theme well. Sophisticated and elegance as well, and the styling and setting is very suitable for the perfume. Good job!!!
Natalie: I really like this, Ashley. I think you've embodied the theme and your perfume well. Good job!
Emmy (Royal Desire by Christina Aguilera)
Amanda: I like that you took all this effort to make it into an AD. If you didn't post the original image too, I would think this was an ACTUAL ad for the product - it's that damn good. I love how regal this is, yet it's broken and torn - there's a major story here about you being upset that you're NOT a princess (or queen). The styling is great, and... I just like it a lot. Great work, Emmy!
Adele: I love the pink color and how you look so royal in the photo. I think your face is a little bit awkward here but you the setting and the styling helped this photo a lot. Good job!!!
Natalie: The ad looks great, but the lighting is what bothers me. Other than that, I totally see it. Good job this week!
Lee: "I love how regal this is, yet it's broken and torn - there's a major story here about you being upset that you're NOT a princess (or queen)." This!!!! I love that so much about this photo. It's very interesting and of course the ad you made is really cool.
Gwen: I could see this as an ad even if you hadn't worked it into an actual ad. I see the connection between you and the theme this week and you look good in the picture. I'm not a fan of how messy the carpet is. A queen would not be staying in a room that messy. However, that's just a small issue I have with an otherwise great photo.
Kate (Curious by Britney Spears
Lee: Oooh I love this! The setting and styling is so gorgeous and you are beautiful! This is really really good, I like everything about it! Good job!
Amanda: First off, you used an image from this shoot in Cycle 9, but that's forgivable for three reasons - one, it's separate seasons, so using one image from the same shoot again is fine; two, TinyPic ate your other one; and three, this is still GORGEOUS. Your expression is BREATHTAKING, the styling and setting are STILL wonderful, and your explanation is just the icing on the cake. Well done, Kate!
Adele: Good memory, Amanda... but I agree with the Lee & Amanda. Another strong photo from you this week. The setting is wonderful and I think you nailed the theme. Curious is one of my favorite perfumes and I believe this photo is perfect for that perfume. Great job, again
Nat: I would've never remembered you used this shoot if Amanda hadn't said anything, lol. It doesn't strike me as something you've used before! Anyway, your explanation is fantastic and really helps sell this product. Great job this week! I love the setting and styling!
Gwen: I've had to look at this one a few times, but it's grown on me each time I look at it. I do see the curiosity in this photo and I like the styling and posing you have. Also, when you list the scents in the perfume, the color scheme of the photo makes perfect sense, so that's a nice bonus, too.
Katy (Mesmerize by Selena Gomez)
Amanda: I like. But then again, I don't love. The setting is great, and I could totally see this as a perfume shot, but your hand in your face and the way your teeth are showing. This could be something so much more - you could draw us in with a sexy, sultry expression and mesmerize us, but you don't; mixed with the setting, you do at least to some effect, but not enough to get me to go out and... well wait, I hate perfume, it gives me a headache, what am I talking about? XD
This is still good - it just isn't the clincher that it could be. Hope that's enough
Adele: Last week was a disaster for you Katy but I think you redeem yourself with this photo. I was mesmerize by this photo. You look very sexy and the setting is suitable but Amanda is right. You don't want to overplay the sexy part too much cause I think you're already born sexy!!! Good job!!!
Natalie: I think this is an okay week for you, Katy. I think this fits better with some aquatic theme, rather than a mesmerizing one. All of it doesn't really add up to mesmerizing- sorry! I see the ad, though.
Gwen: I can see what you're going for here and it works. It doesn't hit me over the head and it's definitely not obvious, but I see it. The lighting sets the mood perfectly and I think your posing works nicely for this shot. The setting works well and i like the little added touch of the phone being off the hook right behind you. It looks like you were on a call, but got mesmerized by something.
Liv (Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears)
Amanda: This is good... but not great. I love the ad spread and how it's done and the setting an effect are marvelous, but that hood... it just doesn't strike me as something overly fashilicious (portmanteau of "fashionably delicious," obviously), and having a low modelesquity, even though this is obviously a photoshoot given the camera effect, is what is hindering this for me on ONE END. On the OTHER, there's this "Plain Jane" look you have, which means this perfume is for an average woman. It's relatable - any other theme this probably wouldn't be, but you're selling the perfume here and that's the best thing you have going for you. Good job, Liv!
Adele: The concept is there Liv, but I'm not so sure if this photo is suitable enough for a Perfume Ad. I don't have much problem with the execution of the theme but your photo is lack of modeling value. But I love the fact that when you look at the box, you can noticed the similarities in your photo. I wish the styling would be stronger than this
Natalie: Taking into consideration the theme, you did swimmingly, however, your modelling leaves something to be desired. You're not really selling yourself to the viewer, and that's going to hurt. I do like your setting, though!
Gwen: The theme in this shot is fantastic. I totally get Midnight Fantasy out of this. We just run into a problem with the modeling aspect in this shot. I would have liked to have seen more of your body and also a different pose. Mainly, a modeling pose. This is going to be a tough one to rank because I love this shot from a theme standpoint, but not from a modeling one.
Marion (Heat by Beyonce)
Amanda: Again with the facetious face, Marion. Or rather... blank. The setting here appears to be a hot desert, yes, but we don't see enough of it - we mostly see the sky - and given your blank face and white clothing, you're almost invisible. Nothing about this photo is popping out at me. I don't see it getting hot in here, either - it's just... blank. Bland. Boring. You're squinting to keep out of the sun, I take it, but... how hot is it? You don't even have a hat on! Am I going off-topic here...? Still, this is just alright for me. It isn't anything special. Sorry Marion :/
Adele: I don't think it was that bad!!! But I want to see more 'Heat' in the photo. I want to see more passion, fire and you look a little bit soft and calm here. I like this photo but did not love it..
Natalie: I get where you were trying to go with this heat business, but I was hoping for something more fiery, like your first photo in your original cycle. That was amazing. Anyway, I do wish we could see more of the setting, but you do look fantastic here. I'm just not sure I'd buy anything from this ad.
Gwen: I think this shot would have worked better if the heat was coming from you. Right now, you just look exhausted. I don't think this is a bad picture, but I don't feel it's a good one, either. It's pretty bland and kind of boring. Sorry.
Monica (Forever by Mariah Carey)
Amanda: Natalie will SO give you bonus points for this XD. Seriously though, this is great. It's hot. It's aesthetically pleasing. Your eyes are lavishly delicious. Your hair is awesome. The pose and setting... it's great. However, you do sorta look like... *looks one way* *looks the other*
...a certain crazy Asian girl...
...uh...
*runs*
Adele: Another gorgeous photo from you, I believe your interpretation and I think you look stunning in this photo. I can see this photo being used as a perfume advertisement. Overall, great job.. You're gettin' better from week to week.
Natalie: This is easily your best attempt to get an FCO from me (not that you haven't already gotten one) but really this is amazing mainly because I <3 Mariah. I'll try and put that aside as I judge, but it may be hard No really, this is actually pretty good, all things considered. It matches the theme well because... well... Mariah's perfume sold, didn't it? It obviously does its job, and this is nearly identical. Good work, Monica!
Gwen: I just looked up the original "Forever" shot so I could compare and they are strikingly similar. There's just one important difference between the two: this shot is so much better. You get points for theme because this is literally right in the ad campaign for the fragrance, but you also get points for modeling it so well. Great job.
